Sorry I have not been writing as often as I usually do - the August-September period is sometimes used for my family vacations. I am now in Canada attending a celebration in honor of my youngest brother's upcoming wedding. I will resume writing upon my return next week.

Learnt some exciting news today even though I have no idea as yet how on earth we are going to get any benefit from it. There exists biographies written about brother and sister, Dr. Pedro Luis & Carmen Luisa de Montbrun, first son and second daughter of Dr Domingo & Emilia de Montbrun KNT of Trinidad. Dr. Pedro Luis de Montbrun would have been my Great Grandfather.
Carmen Luisa's Biography information is as follows:

In case you've seen some additional activity (particularly in the Jose Leandro, Jose Emilio & Pedro Luis folders), I've been trying to adjust my chapter numbering system so please bear with me while I try to complete this exercise. What started off as a 'Brief History of the de Montbrun family' is now becoming a significantly large book with many chapters and I have not been able to find some material.

Today, February 23, 2008 is the 48th anniversary of the death of Leandro de Montbrun, more popularly known as ‘Landy’ de Montbrun. Landy was the second child of Jose Leandro de Montbrun, Barrister at Law and Josephine (‘Josie’) Laughlin-de Montbrun. For almost 30 years, between 1930 and 1960, at almost every major event, charitable or otherwise throughout the length and breadth of Trinidad, Landy de Montbrun would be featured as Master of Ceremonies or a headlining act.

Today, February 21st, 2008 is the 109th anniversary of the death of Barrister Jose Leandro de Montbrun, the youngest child of Dr Domingo de Montbrun, KNT. On February 21, 1899, at the age of 31, Jose Leandro died suddenly in Guira, Venezuela of Tubercolosis, just 10 months after the birth of his first son Jose Emilio de Montbrun (grandfather to many of the Canadian line of the de Montbrun family). He had gone to Venezuela hoping that the change of air would improve his condition, together with his wife, Josephine (nee Laughlin), at great risk to herself.

Today, January 28, 2007 is the 114th anniversary of the death of the shared great great grandfather of many of the Trinidad de Montbruns, Dr. Domingo de Montbrun, Knt. Dr. Domingo de Montbrun Knt. was the husband of Emilia Otero and the father of Josefa, Dr. Pedro Luis (my great grandfather), Dr. Domingo Antonio, Carmen Luisa, Barrister Jose Leandro and Louisa Antonia de Montbrun. Dr. Domingo de Montbrun Knt. was born Puerto Cabello, Venezuela in 1830 to General Jose Leandro and Maria de Montbrun. In 1865, Dr.

Sorry I have not be writing, work and travel commitments have been unforgiving. I have not been able to commit the time for research for well over a month. My hope is that the slow sales month of December will offer me the time to at least catch up on a few topics I would have liked to cover before the end of the year. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Since we have to some extent linked the family of Dr. Domingo KNT and his Venezuelan brothers, sisters and parents, I was thinking, is it possible that this new information out of Venezuela could help link the two main groups of de Montbruns in Trinidad. We have the names of Dr. Domingo's bothers and sisters.

Marc de Montbrun, a Trinidadian comedian that works under the stage name "Marc Trinidad" was featured in an article in today's Trinidad Guardian, October 23, 2007. Marc, incidentally, is one of my two younger brothers in Canada. The text of that article can be found below:
