Since we have to some extent linked the family of Dr. Domingo KNT and his Venezuelan brothers, sisters and parents, I was thinking, is it possible that this new information out of Venezuela could help link the two main groups of de Montbruns in Trinidad. We have the names of Dr. Domingo's bothers and sisters. We also have the family descendents of all three brothers of that family, Domingo, Jose Maria and Jose Leandro, in whose care would have been placed the family name.(The children of the 'Montbrun' sisters would have eventually lost their mother's name after the passage of only one generation). The 'Monty' line of Trinidad ie Vicente de Montbrun may have not originated from any of Domingo's brothers but possibly a step up. Dominique (Dr. Domingo's grandfather) was married once before, and two sons were born of that union, could it be possible that Vicente was a descendent of Fray Juan Antonio or Pedro de Montbrun (sons of Dominique and Manuela de Montbrun)? Intriguing, I dare say!!! Could it be possible that the distance between the de Montbrun families of Trinidad began with a 'half' family and with the passage of time, old ties were forgotten, and the gaps became wider. Could we all be descended from the same 'Dominique de Montbrun?'
I've always suspected that the 'Vicente' line (at least in terms of their presence here in Trnidad) was much older than Dr. Domingo's. If their branch did originate from the Dominique and Manuela union, that could provide a suitable timeline for their arrival in Trinidad long before Dr. Domingo's arrival. Its also quite possible (as 'halves' so to speak, separated from the families and their offspring in Venezuela) that they may not have even know who Domingo was when he arrived.
I think this may be a possible theory worth exploring.
