Today, January 28, 2007 is the 114th anniversary of the death of the shared great great grandfather of many of the Trinidad de Montbruns, Dr. Domingo de Montbrun, Knt. Dr. Domingo de Montbrun Knt. was the husband of Emilia Otero and the father of Josefa, Dr. Pedro Luis (my great grandfather), Dr. Domingo Antonio, Carmen Luisa, Barrister Jose Leandro and Louisa Antonia de Montbrun. Dr. Domingo de Montbrun Knt. was born Puerto Cabello, Venezuela in 1830 to General Jose Leandro and Maria de Montbrun. In 1865, Dr. Domingo and Emilia migrated from their homeland of Venezuela with their two sons, Domingo Antonio and Pedro Luis and two daughters, Josepha and infant Carmen Luisa, to Trinidad during a time of civil unrest in the country of their birth, and so began our line of the Trinidad de Montbruns.
