DEATH OF Mrs E. O. de MONTBRUN

We regret to announce the death of Mrs Emilio Otero de Montbrun, relict of the late Dr. Domingo de Montbrun, Kt., Consul in this colony for Venezuela, Columbia and Portugal, which sad event occurred at her late residence at Frederick Street, in this city, at 1.45a.m. yesterday after an illness of twelve weeks, during which time she was attended by her son, Dr. A. de Montbrun. The demise of Mrs de Montbrun has removed fron us one of an old and respected family who for many years had made Trinidad their home. Mrs de Montbrun was born in Venezuela and had been a resident of this colony for over forty-nine years. She had attained the ripe age of 80 years, her husband having pre-deceased her over nineteen years ago.

Mrs de Montbrun was of a very charitable disposition, and anyone approaching her for assistance never left her presence without their wants being relieved, at the same time she never allowed her left hand to know the doings of her right. Her death has been keenly felt by everybody who knew her. It may be stated that her charity extended outside the colony also. She has left to mourn her loss, beside other relatives, two children, Dr de Montbrun and Mrs J. M. Betancourt, ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren, three of the last mentioned being in Venezuela and one in London, to whom we beg to tender our respectful sympathy.
